There are many solutions to climate change already out there in the world that have yet to be implemented. All the solutions involve making lifestyle changes for humans in order to save the world that we live in.
Many governments around the globe have made big efforts to decrease their carbon footprint and slow climate change. For example, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change formed the Paris Agreement in December of 2015. The Paris Agreement involves 187 countries, all of which have agreed to plan and regularly report on a plan to slow and eventually stop global warming. While there is no standard for emissions, the target is too have each year less than the year before. The goals of the agreement are to slow/stop the increase of global temperature, lower greenhouse gas emissions, create climate resilience, adapt to climate change, and make finance flow towards low GHG emissions and climate development.
While climate change may seem like a problem that is too large for an individual to do anything about, there are many things you can do at home to help. Some of these include, eating less meat. Many forms of meat, especially beef are harmful towards the enviorment, so eating less of them is better. Unplugging devices and turning off lights when not in use is also important because doing so will decrease electricity use, which is better for the enviorment. Driving less and using more public transportation will also help decrease your carbon emissions from your car/vehicle. Using less plastic and more reusable containers will help to keep plastic out of landfills and oceans, which will help preserve wildlife populations. Finally, using sustainable energy sources will help keep carbon emissions down, which is better for the enviorment.
